A young woman living in the Aughnacloy area has taken to social media to express how heartbroken her family is after their home was broken into and robbed.
In a facebook post that was shared almost 1,000 times, Shannon Killen described the criminals who entered the family home as "scum".
Late Friday night, Shannon said:
"So tonight we came home from Christmas shopping to our home turned upside down and our door kicked in and broke.
"I can't believe the way our family home has ended up its been completely ransacked by scum of the earth.
"So whoeever you are out there I hope to God you enjoy your Christmas with our money, our jewellery, Christmas presents and everything else you took because I know you've left us heartbroken and so so angry and everyone of us traumatised and even afraid to walk round our own house without jumping."
The PSNI also responded to another burglary in the Aughnacloy area on the same night (Friday 15th December).
According to a police spokesperson, the first burglary is believed to have occurred between 4pm and 6.35pm in the Tully Manor area.
The second is thought to have taken place between 6.30pm and 9.10pm in the Dungannon Road area where entry was forced via the back of the property.
It was also ransacked before a quantity of cash and jewellery were stolen from it.
Information regarding either of the burglaries can be reported to police on 101, quoting reference 1252 or 1440 of 12/12/2017.
