Belfast Christmas lights switch-on may be ditched in favour of animation programme

Belfast's traditional Christmas lights switch on may be ditched this year.

Instead the City Council is said to be exploring plans for a city-wide Christmas animation programme.

It would involve members of the public exploring the city's streets in their own time during the evenings.
