Books of condolence opened in Cookstown, Dungannon and Magherafelt

Books of condolence are available to sign in Mid-Ulster.

They were opened yesterday following the Manchester terror attack.

The books are available to sign at The Bridewell, Magherafelt; the Burnavon, Cookstown; and Ranfurly House, Dungannon.

 Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Trevor Wilson, expressed his horror at the ‘scale and callousness’ of the attack.

 “This attack is almost incomprehensible in its scale and callousness, and I know I echo the thoughts and feelings of all right-minded people when I say I was stunned, shocked and horrified at the loss of life and the injuries sustained,” he says.

 “Our hearts go out to those families whose loved ones went out to enjoy a concert and who will now never come home. They face having to come to terms with the unthinkable, and while nothing will lessen their grief or loss, knowing that people across the world, including in Mid Ulster, are expressing their condolences and standing in solidarity with them, will, I hope, be of some small comfort”.
