All this week Q Radio has been focusing on people affected by suicide in some way.

And they’ve all shown bravery in speaking out.

This series of special reports is by Gillian McDade – and today she’s with Caroline, who was abused when she was younger.

Caroline was robbed of her childhood.

Sadly, Caroline suffered the devastating loss of her stepfather, who she was close to. He took his own life.

If anyone is suffering in silence, Caroline is encouraging them to seek help from the Niamh Louise Foundation. The contact number is 028 8775 3327. She says it provided much needed comfort when all other avenues had failed.

If you've been affected by any of these issues, you can contact the Samaritans on 116 123 or Lifeline on 0800 808 8000.
