The Chief Constable of the PSNI and Chief Medical Officer joined a police patrol last night, as they carried out licensing checks in Belfast.
Simon Byrne and Michael McBride engaged with bar and restaurant owners, to ensure they were following COVID-19 guidelines.
As a result, one premises was served a prohibition notice.
A PSNI spokesperson said:
The pair engaged with licensees in the city to ensure they were adhering to their responsibilities as required under the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) Regulations NI 2020.
As a result of this engagement one licensed premises was served with a Prohibition Notice.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland is guided by the Licensing (NI) Order 1996 and the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) Regulations NI 2020 to ensure laws are upheld and people are kept safe.
