Mid Ulster District Council’s tendering system is to move online.

The switch takes place next month.

It means that from 1 April, any procurement exercise worth over £30,000 will be managed electronically.

Firms wishing to bid for work will complete the process via a web-based portal.

The council is holding three workshops for businesses to learn more about how the new system will operate

The workshops will take place on:

Monday 27 March from 2pm to 4pm at the Council Offices, Dungannon,

Wednesday 29 March from 10am to noon at the Council Offices, Magherafelt,

Wednesday 29 March from 2pm to 4pm at Cookstown Leisure Centre.

Welcoming the new system, Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Trevor Wilson says moving this online will make the process of tendering more efficient.

“While many businesses will be familiar with electronic systems, others may not and these workshops are an important way for us to help ensure that companies wishing to tender for work are supported in advance of the system coming on-stream,” he adds.

To find out more and register for the workshops, please contact the Council’s procurement service on 03000 132 132 or email procurement@midulstercouncil.org.
