A SuperValu store in Newcastle has reopened this morning after having to close when a 'handful' of staff members tested positive for Coronavirus.
The Barbican store, based on Dundrum Road in the town, has undergone a professional deep clean to allow it to reopen today.
The shop confirmed on its Facebook page that contact tracing had taken place, and that the staff members affected were self isolating for 14 days.
The post on the store's Facebook page says, "The health of our colleagues and customers is our top priority, and in line with guidance from health experts, the store is undergoing professional deep clean as a precautionary measure and will reopen at 6am.
"If you have been in store and are concerned, please contact the NHS 111 helpline service."
