Dog rescued from Mourne Mountains

Mountain rescue teams were called to Slieve Donard today to rescue a dog.

The animal reportedly become unwell on the descent of the mountain and was unable to continue.

Rescue teams were tasked at around 10.15 am to carry the dog on a stretcher down the Glen River track.

He was then taken put in a team vehicle and taken back to his owner's car.

In a post on Facebook Mourne Mountain Rescue said:

"We have since heard that he is showing signs of recovering well despite a ruff morning."
