Drivers are being warned to take care on the roads in the poor weather.
Officers in Foyle say many of the regions rural routes are in a 'treacherous' condition.
The old Rossdowney Road was closed for a time last night as emergency crews responded to a collision.
Police say the driver was shaken up but otherwise uninjured in the crash.
