Fermanagh and Omagh SME's to create over 30 new jobs in £1.5m investment

5 SME's (small and medium enterprises) in Fermanagh and Omagh are investing over £1.5 million to grow their market share in Great Britain. 

Struct Steel Engineering, Curran Gas Limited and Greentown Traffic Management from Fermanagh, and Omagh-based companies New Generation Agri and Oran Oak Engineering, have been working with Invest Northern Ireland to help grow their business. 

31 new roles are being recruited across the five businesses which operate in the manufacturing, engineering and service industries. 

Invest NI's Western Office Manager, Ethna McNamee commented:

"This is just a few of the businesses in Fermanagh and Omagh who we are working with to help identify opportunities for growth and development. 

"Invest NI support, totalling £165,829, is enabling these companies to create new jobs and gain additional resources and expertise to sell new markets."

Out of the 31 jobs, over half are already in place, and when all the positions are filled they will generate over £6000,000 annually in additional salaries into the local economy. 

As well as this, they'll create valuable employment opportunities in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area. 

Ms McNamee also said: 

"Working together with economic development partners, we want to make Northern Ireland the best region in which to start, and grow, a business. 

"We have given a commitment in our business strategy to work even more closely with partners both locally and internationally to support economic development and contribute to the delivery of community planning."

Speaking following the announcement, the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Stephen McCann, said:

“I welcome today’s announcement that these companies, based within the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area, are confident enough in their businesses to invest to grow their business in wider markets.

“Job creation in our district is always welcome and these new jobs and their contribution to the local economy is excellent news. 

"Fermanagh and Omagh District Council recognises the significant role played by SMEs in our local economy and we will continue to work closely with Invest NI in ensuring this vital sector is provided with the necessary business investment and support.”
