Causeway Coast and Glens PSNI are promising to step up rural patrols to help stop farm thefts.
Superintendent John Magill made the pledge to MP Gregory Campbell and party colleagues.
Earlier this week the Chief Constable announced a further £40 million of cuts.
The PSNIs Rural Crime Unit was also recently wound up.
Mr Campbell says people hearing about budget cuts can create a self-fulfilling prophecy:
Jury selection under way in Jeffrey Donaldson sexual offences trial
Man arrested after reports pickup truck crashed into building in Fermanagh
Two arrested after car crashes into house
Two men charged in connection with death of man in Belfast
