Hundreds of pupils in west set to be hit by disruption to school bus services

Hundreds of pupils in the west of the province are set to be affected by disruption to school bus services on Wednesday.

The Education Authority has said buses will not operate on a number of routes due to last-minute operational issues and Covid-19.

Families in Fermanagh and parts of Tyrone are being urged to seek alternative transport. 

The EA has issued the following statement:

Transport update – Fermanagh/Fivemiletown area - Wednesday 1 September

We’re doing our best to get school transport back on the road, but some of our services may be affected by last minute operational issues, and in some instances COVID.  Parents are encouraged to consider alternative options, including active transport, and we appreciate your patience during these challenging times.

The following routes in the Fermanagh and Fivemiletown area will not operate on 1 September:

• F045 from Newtownbutler serving Maguiresbridge PS, St Mary’s PS (Maguiresbridge), St Ronan’s PS, Bunscoil an Traonaigh, St Kevin’s College & Enniskillen post primary schools
• F049 from Derrylin serving St Ninnidh’s PS, St Nailes PS & St Aidan’s HS.
• F051 from Newtownbutler serving Newtownbutler PS, St Mary’s PS (Newtownbutler), St Mary’s PS (Maguiresbridge) & St Kevin’s College
• F061 from Derrygonnelly serving St Patrick’s PS (Derrygonnelly), Killyhommon PS & Enniskillen post primary schools
• F082 from Tempo serving St Mary’s PS (Tempo), Tempo PS & Enniskillen post primary schools
• F099 from Fivemiletown serving St Mary’s PS (Fivemiletown), St Mary’s PS (Brookeborough),  Brookeborough PS & St Kevin’s College
