A consultation is to begin on design concepts for a potential £2.75M public realm scheme in Coalisland.
Local residents, traders and businesses are being invited to comment on the proposals which have been developed by Mid Ulster District Council.
Subject to funding and planning approval, the scheme will bring new high quality natural stone paving, street furniture, tree planting, signage, lighting and drainage to the town centre.
The project extends across the town centre, encompassing works to the Square, Main Street, Lineside, Dungannon Road, Stewartstown Road, Barrack Street, Barrack Square, Station Road and Washingbay Road.
Chair of the Council, Kim Ashton is encouraging anyone who uses the town centre to consider the designs and contribute to the consultation:
"While we're clearly still at the very early stages of the project, making sure the designs are right is very important if we are to achieve our ultimate goal, which is to revitalise and reinvigorate Coalisland town centre, making it more attractive for residents and visitors alike."
Q Radio's also been speaking to one of the local Councillors in Coalisland, Niamh Doris.
She says there's also proposals to improve infrastructure in the town such as access for both pedestrians and motorists, and improving traffic flow in the town.
Two information sessions were held as part of the consultation exercise at Conrmill Heritage Centre last week.
The design concepts are now on display in the library at the centre and in the Western House in Coalisland until Tuesday 31st October.
