Four masked men all armed with hammer have forced entry into a house in North Belfast.
It happened in the Keadyville Avenue area at around 9.20pm last night.
Two of the suspects are reported to have assaulted a man inside the house with a hammer.
A woman, aged in her 20s, who was also in the property at the time intervened and was headbutted.
She suffered a minor injury to her mouth as a result.
The man, aged in his 30s, attended hospital for treatment of injuries which are thought to be minor.
Damage was also caused to a door, windows and a number of household items.
One of the suspects has been described as wearing a navy-coloured tracksuit with stripes along the sleeves and bottoms.
