A shop worker has been left badly shaken after being threatened and robbed by a man armed with a knife in Newtownards.
The suspect entered the shop in the High Street in the town just before 10.15pm last night.
Police say he made his way behind the counter brandishing the weapon and demanded money from a member of staff.
He then fled the scene with cash and made off on a dark-coloured bicycle in the direction of Conway Square.
Detective Sergeant Westbury said, "He is described as being aged in his mid-20s, approximately 5’ 10” to 5’ 11” in height, of a slim build with dark fair hair and was wearing a black-coloured jacket, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes on the sides and light grey trainers.
“While, thankfully, the staff member was physically unharmed, this was a terrifying experience for them.”
Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or saw a male matching this description in the area last night is asked to call detectives on 101, quoting reference number 2277 of 18/07/21.
