Police have arrested a man in his 30s following a report of assault in the Buttercrane Shopping Centre in Newry.
It was reported that a man in his 40s was headbutted and sustained a serious injury to his eye during an altercation on Tuesday afternoon, 9th July at around 12.15pm.
The injured man, who was taken to hospital following the assault, was accompanied by his mother and young child at the time of the attack, they were not injured.
The man arrested, on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm with intent, remains in custody at this time.
