A 38 year old man has died after being hit by a car in Warrenpoint.
It happened on the Newry Road at around 5 this morning.
It was closed for a number of hours this morning but has since re-opened.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision which involved a black Renault Clio.
A PSNI statement said, "A 38 year old male pedestrian has died after being struck by a car on Newry Road in Warrenpoint this morning, Saturday 21 September."
"The collision, which involved a black Renault Clio, occurred approximately two miles from Newry at around 5am."
"Police would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with information that could assist their investigation. Please call 101, quoting reference 445 21/12/19."
