A 37-year-old man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court this morning following a hijacking at a garage forecourt in west Belfast.
It happened when a young couple pulled into a filling station on Finaghy Road North on Saturday evening around 7.30pm.
The Vauxhall Corsa was taken when the driver got out to get food.
A young woman managed to get out of the vehicle as it was driven away - it later crashed on Whiterock Close.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives investigating a hijacking incident on Finaghy Road North in west Belfast on Saturday, 13th June, have charged a 37-year-old man with several offences.
"The man has been charged to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court today with offences, including hijacking and aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to the vehicle.
"As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service."
