A man has been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast after allegedly being stabbed in the head.
Forensic teams were called to Belmont Avenue in the East of the city this afternoon.
Police say up to five men entered a property in the Belmont Avenue area and assaulted two men at around 1.45pm.
One man was taken to the Royal Victoria Hopsital with non life threatening head injuries.
Another man was treated for minor wounds by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
A Detective Sergeant with the PSNI said: "Anyone who has any information about this incident should contact detectives at Musgrave police station on the non-emergency number 101".
