McCarron appearance on RTE cancelled

Tyrone footballer Cathal McCarron's appearance on this weekend's Late Late Show has been cancelled.

In a statement to the Irish News, RTE says McCarron would not be a part of the line-up.

The decision to remove him comes just days after a complaint.

The father of a 15-year-old who McCarron met through Tinder, had voiced his outrage at the planned interview.

McCarron however says he did not realise the girl was underage when they arranged to meet using the mobile dating app.

In July of this year the Director of Public Prosecutions decided not to prosecute the GAA star over the case.
