Mum says four young children including baby lucky to survive Mossley arson attack

A Newtownabbey mother of four young children says the family had to run for their lives after a suspected arson attack at the weekend...

A house was gutted when a bin was set on fire outside the property at Birchmount in Mossley on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters say they were met by a fireball after the flames spread to two oil tanks and an electricity substation and destroyed two cars.

The outside of Carly Dalzell's home next door was also badly damaged as she fled with her children.

She says the family was lucky to escape unscathed and had the attack happened overnight they would have had no chance...

Carly's revealed the arson started outside her home...

She has no idea why the houses were targeted....

William Lee, who lives across the street, says it was terrifying how the fire took hold, but local people acted quickly to save lives... 

Police say they are working to establish a motive and are appealing for witnesses. 

Around 50 homes were left without power as a result of the substation fire but supplies have since been restored.
