New facilities costing over half a million pounds have been officially opened at Dungannon Park.

The refurbishment scheme was carried out over two years.

The £700,000 project was funded by Mid Ulster District Council.

The council's flagship park hosts around 200,000 visitors annually.

New facilities include the new Café in the Park snack bar offering visitors a selection of hot and cold drinks, delicious lunches and ice cream treats.

The 5* caravan and campsite facilities were also refurbished.

It now has the capacity to accommodate 24 touring units, an increase of 12  fully-serviced pitches for touring units, showers, washing and laundry facilities.

Visitor feedback has been very encouraging with visiting campers giving Dungannon Park glowing reviews and recommendations.

Speaking as he officially opened the new facilities, the Chair of Mid Ulster District council, Councillor Trevor Wilson, says the new facilities are a great addition to an already renowned flag-ship council facility.

"I am delighted the Council saw the opportunity to maximise the potential of this fabulous space and implemented the £700,000 refurbishment scheme which will hopefully build on the already impressive number of visitors to the park every year," he adds.
