NW 200 head Mervyn Whyte to get 'Freedom'

North West 200 boss Nervyn Whyte WILL receive the Freedom of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough.

Councillors backed the move at a special meeting last night.

The Limavady man has been a key factor in transforming the annual motorbike races into a slick international event.

Mervyn is expected to be formally conferred the honour at a ceremony within the next few weeks.
