His comments come as the end of a public consultation on axing Killowen, Ardnabannon and Delamont draws closer.
The Education Authority hopes to reduce costs in closing at least four of Northern Ireland's eight centres.
Mr Andrews told Q Radio's Iveren McCallion he doesn't believe the saving will warrant the loss:
