The North Antim MLA says the "arrogance of the DUP" has angered more than just Nationalists and Republicans
Sinn Féin MLA Philip McGuigan says the public is "angered and frustrated at how the arrogance of the DUP has led to a political crisis."
In a statement the North Antrim assemblyman said: "There is justifiable public anger and resentment over the DUP led RHI scandal and mismanagement and potential corruption of huge amounts of public money."
He went on to claim there was an "arrogance and inability of the DUP to work in a genuine partnership with others on the basis of equality."
"Everyone wants the political institutions to work but people recognise that they can only work with public confidence, good governance and genuine partnership." said Mr McGuigan
He reiterated his party's assertion that an election needed to be held.
However, Mr McGuigan says he welcomes the decision of Communities Minister Paul Givan to reverse the cuts to the Líofa bursary for disadvantaged children. Although he added that he was unsure if the decision represented a DUP 'softening' on the Irish Language or a "cynical attempt at political deflection."
