Police are investigating the circumstances around the sudden death of a toddler in Derry/Londonderry.
Emergency services were called a house in the Bogside shortly after 10am on Sunday morning.
Police say a postmortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
MLA for the area Karen Mullan said she felt devastated for the family:
"Absolutely tragic, the community is in shock" said Ms Mullen "the death of a young child is just unimaginable
"We send our sympathies to the family at this very difficult time"
Karen Mullan MLA also said it was a particularly close-knit community which has been left stunned by the news
"The neighbours were very upset yesterday" said Ms Mullen "There's quite a number of young children.
"They [the community] were in deep, deep shock" continued Ms Mullen "But they will pull together and will support the mother and father"
