Waste dumped at Kettle Lane Road, Coalisland

by Gráinne Connolly

Local Sinn Féin Councillor Niamh Doris is calling for an end to fly tipping in the Coalisland area.

It's following numerous ongoing complaints from several members of the public about dumping on the Kettle Lane Road.

Speaking on the issue Councillor Doris said:

"I would call for an end to the fly tipping on the Kettle Lane Road. Fly tipping is not only an eyesore but also impacts on local health and safety.

"It also presents an additional financial burden on local rate payers.

"There is a competent amenity council facility just one minute away from Kettle Lane where waste can be disposed of in a safe and controlled manner, so it beyond belief that some people who dump rubbish in this manner.

"Such instances of fly tipping are completely unacceptable and need to be challenged.

"Those engaged in this behaviour should stop immediately and I would encourage local residents to report any sightings to ensure further incidents are minimised."

The Councillor has also reported the issue to Mid Ulster District Council to ensure the recent items are removed.
