There's been a call for an urgent review by the Department of Justice and Prison Service after a convicted killer went on the run yesterday before being recaptured last night.
Christopher Kerr is serving a life sentence for the murder of 15-year-old Michael McIlveen in Ballymena in 2006.
The 32-year-old absconded from custody in Belfast city centre while on accompanied temporary release but was later arrested in Antrim.
Police had made an appeal for information, describing him as dangerous and saying he should not be approached.
