Ryanair apologies for diverted flight

Flight from Glasgow to Derry City Airport had to be re-routed to Belfast International due to severe winds in the North West

Airline company Ryanair has issued an apology after a plane had to be diverted away from City of Derry Airport

Yesterday afternoon's flight from Glasgow had to be re-routed to Belfast International due to high winds in the North West.  A spokesperson for the airline said they had 'sincerely apologised' to affected passengers.Adding that it was due to 'matters beyond their control'

Affected passengers were then transferred to Derry-Londonderry by coach, while customers on the return flight to Glasgow were transferred to Dublin.

Ryanair statement in full: “This flight from Glasgow to Derry (26 Jan) was diverted to Belfast International due to high winds at Derry Airport. The aircraft landed normally and customers were transferred to Derry by coach. To minimise delay, customers on the return flight to Glasgow were transferred to Dublin where that flight departed from. Ryanair sincerely apologised to all those affected by this weather diversion, which was entirely beyond our control."
