West Tyrone MLA Michaela Boyle wants local disability support organisations to "help shape" future Stormont legislation.
Sinn Fein's disability spokesperson Michaela Boyle is asking support groups and organisations for people suffering from disabilities to come forward and "help her shape legislation" at the Northern Ireland Assembly.
"People with disabilities face many issues and it's important their views are listened to and taken into account," she said.
The West Tyrone assemblywoman says she's now written to a number of groups in the local area and has already arranged meetings with some.
She says she wants to listen to "ideas" as well as "concerns" during forthcoming appointments.
"It is important the views of those involved in the disability sector are considered when legislation is being shaped," she added.
"I have arranged meetings with several groups already and I'm looking forward to meeting them and others in the coming weeks and months to discuss their views," she said.
