A public meeting in Belfast has been told same-sex marriage could be introduced in Northern Ireland through Westminster.
Sinn Fein vice president Michelle O'Neill said in the absence of devolution London can provide an alternative route for new laws.
However, she stressed her preferred option was to get the Assembly back up and running and legislate locally.
Speaking outside the meeting, she responded to claims her party had failed to secure a commitment on marriage equality during recent power-sharing talks...
