Two 12-year-old boys have been attacked by a group of boys with an unknown weapon in West Belfast.
They felt something on their necks when it happened around 4.30pm this afternoon on the Glen Road in Andersonstown.
One of them fell to the ground and was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Detectives are trying to work out what type of weapon was used.
In a statement the PSNI said: "Sergeant Tom Donnelly would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has information in relation to it to contact Police at Woodbourne on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 811 06/09/17. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
