Use of a taser stun gun was justified in Cookstown – that’s according to the Police Ombudsman.
It was one of four incidents across the Province to take place over the past few years.
Dr Michael Maguire found that the weapon had been used appropriately to prevent people causing harm to either themselves or others.
In October 2014, a Taser was used against a man whose family had locked themselves in the living room of their home for their own safety.
Officers suspected that the man would stab himself.
