A van has been burned out in the Bogside area of Derry - Londonderry this afternoon as trouble continues to flare in the area.
It follows three consequtive nights of petrol bomb attacks against police, residents and the near-by Fountain estate.
It's understood the van involved had been taken from the Creggan area earlier in a suspected hijacking.
MLA Mark H Durkan said "These thugs cannot be allowed to hold a community to ransom.
"They are not only terrorising the people in this area but placing a strain on emergency services.
"Imagine your house went on fire now and these brave firefighters were delayed getting to you because they are dealing with this.
"This must stop now."
Police are dealing with what appears to be a hijacking of a van at the bottom of Lecky Road. This vehicle has been set alight but has been extinguished by Fire Service. We are currently advising to avoid the area of the Lecky Flyover/Lecky Road.
