Motorists travelling along the A29 just outside Cookstown are asked to be vigilant.
It follows a report of a deer running out in front of a car on the carriageway this morning.
Police say motorists should expect the unexpected.
They say these animals can cause serious injuries to people and can damage vehicles.
Police are also reminding motorists to be vigilant and to be wary of the excess surface water following the heavy rainfall.
