The PSNI and Police Ombudsman are investigating after an off duty officer accidentally discharged a firearm at a holiday park in County Londonderry.
It happened inside a caravan in the Limavady area on Thursday the 25th of April.
The Sunday World reports the officer is being questioned after the ‘glock pistol accidentally discharged’ and struck his neighbour’s caravan.
Police say no-one was injured in the incident.
A PSNI statement said:
Police are investigating an incident where an off-duty officer accidentally discharged his firearm in a caravan in the Limavady area on the evening of Thursday 25 April.
No one was injured as a result of the incident and, as is normal procedure, the office of the Police Ombudsman have been informed.
The police investigation is continuing.
