Witness appeal follows serious assault

Witnesses are being sought after a 19 year old man was seriously assaulted in Newry.

It happened at about 3:15am yesterday morning in the Catherine Street area.

A police spokesperson told Q Radio the man was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police by dialling 101 or to call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
