The present Lidl.

by Gillian McDade

Work on a new supermarket building to replace the existing Lidl at Castledawson Road in Magherafelt is to begin in September.

Around ten jobs are expected to be created.

Mid Ulster District Planning Committee has approved the demolition of the existing store.

A more modern store of over 2,000sq ft will be built on the site.

The tendering process for the scheme is ongoing.

It’s expected to open in spring 2018.
