A World War Two mine was discovered on the beach at Ballycastle yesterday evening.
It had been washed up on the shore at Carrickmore Road in the seaside town.
A member of the public had alerted the emergency services about the device and a controlled explosion was carried out.
A Coastguard spokeswoman said it was not unusual for WW2 devices to still wash up on our shorelines.
