Linfield beat San Marino minnows La Fiorita 1-0 in their Champions League qualifier at Windsor Park last night.

The Blues left it late, substitute Jordan Stewart scoring the only goal in the 89th minute, on his debut.

Manager David Healy was delighted with his new recruit, the 22-year-old former Glentoran player, signed this summer from Swindon...

Aaron Burns had earlier missed a penalty on a frustrating night for the Danske Bank Premiership champions.

However, Healy says he's pleased to have a one-goal advantage going into the second leg in San Marino on Tuesday.

The winners will face Celtic in the second qualifying round.

But Blues captain Jamie Mulgrew says they're not thinking that far ahead as the La Fiorita tie is still in the balance...

Local teams are involved in Europa League first round, first leg qualifiers tonight.

Crusaders welcome FK Liepaja of Latvia to Seaview while the other clubs are away from home.

Coleraine take on FK Haugesund, Ballymena also have Norwegian opposition in Odds BK and Derry City face FC Midtjylland in Denmark.
