11-up Irish make semis as they continue Olympics qualification bid in Banbridge

Ireland are through to the semi-finals of the FIH hockey tournament in Banbridge after thrashing Singapore 11-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

It completed a 100 per cent record in the group games for the girls in green. 

The World Cup finalists beat Malaysia 2-1 in their opening game on Saturday. 

Ireland's next match at Havelock Park against the Czech Republic on Sunday ended in a crushing 8-1 victory with four goals for Anna O’Flanagan.

The eight-team tournament runs until Sunday June 16th with the top two teams advancing to a Tokyo 2020 qualifying competition.
