Jim Kerr had been in the role since 2007

Jim Kerr has resigned as Chairman of Linfield Football Club.

He had been in the post for more than nine years, and on the board since 2003.

The club has paid tribute to his contribution during his time in the role-

"It is with deep regret that the board of Linfield Football Club have this evening accepted Jim Kerr's resignation as both Chairman of the club as well as his position as a board director.

The club would like to pay tribute to Jim's immense contribution to Linfield over very many years.

The board are totally unanimous in giving fulsome praise to all the hard work that our former chairman has carried out on behalf of the club. At a later date it is the intention of the club to more formally recognise Jim Kerr's long years of service to Linfield Football Club."
