Dungannon Swifts have upset the odds to shock Crusaders and reach the BetMcLean League Cup final next month. 

Rodney McAree's men came from behind to beat the Crues 2-1 after extra-time in Tuesday night's last four tie at Stangmore Park.

Skipper Ryan Harpur hit the winner from the penalty spot to secure the Swifts' first senior final in 11 years...


The result shatters the north Belfast side's dreams of a clean sweep of five trophies - and ends their 23-match unbeaten run.

Dungannon are set to lose their first goalscorer from the semi - Peter McMahon is taking a job in Dublin and his contract is being terminated...

The final is on Saturday 17 February (kick-off 5.30pm) with the Swifts facing the winners of next week's second semi between Ballymena and Cliftonville.

Meanwhile, Coleraine missed the chance to take over from Crusaders at the top of the Danske Bank Premiership when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Linfield at the Showgrounds.

The defending champions struck twice in the last five minutes to snatch a share of the spoils.
