A multi- agency meeting has been called by Councillor Patricia Logue, to discuss the "major rat infestation" affecting homes in the Bogside area of Derry-Londonderry.
It's taking place today (Wednesday 7th February) in the Gasyard centre at 10am.
Councillor Logue has said in the last few days, she's heard "horror stories" of local families whose homes, gardens and laneways behind houses are infested with rats.
However, the issue has been ongoing for over a year now:
A number of agencies will be attending today's meeting, including the Housing Executive, APEX housing, Bogside and Brandywell Initiative (BBI), NI Water, Environmental health, Pest control and Dove House.
The Councillor told Q Radio that it was vital the issue is addressed and dealt with now as it's affecting the residents physical and mental health from constantly "living on nerves":
