Lough Neagh water at its highest since 1928

The water level on Lough Neagh is at its highest since 1928.

That’s according to an independent report on last winter’s flooding.

Drainage Council NI chairman Alan Strong recommended a review of water levels and how they are managed.

Last December, the Linen Green in Dungannon was flooded, causing millions of pounds worth of damage.

Added to that, land belonging to farmers on the perimetre of the lough was also flooded.
