A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Derry/Londonderry, the PSNI said.
The charge relates to an incident at an address in the Gobnascale area on Saturday April 17, when a man was shot in the chest by police and an officer sustained knife wounds to his arm and head.
It is understood the accused is the man who was shot.
The man, aged 42, is due to appear before the city's magistrates’ court on Tuesday.
As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The incident has also been referred to the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland.
