A man has died and two other people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the A1 dual carriageway in Co.Down.
It happened near the Junction of Gowdystown Road between Banbridge and Dromore at around 6.30 last night.
The man who died was driving a Volkswagon Passat car which collided with a Volvo XC-60.
The occupants of the Volvo were taken to hopsital for treatment, where their condition is described as non life threatening and stable.
Emergency services attended the scene last night including a crew from the Northern Ireland air ambulance charity.
The road remained closed for some time as a police investigation took place.
