Detectives investigating the serious assault of a man in the Antrim Street area of Belfast on Sunday have charged a 22-year-old man with attempted murder.
He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Thursday.
A 41-year-old man appeared in court on Wednesday in relation to the incident and was remanded in custody.
Police say the man injured in the assault remains seriously ill in hospital.
