The MP for north Antrim, Ian Paisley, has revealed there are two new bidders interested in buying Wrightbus.
The doomed Co.Antrim bus company went into administration last week with the loss of more than 1,200 jobs.
Mr Paisley says one of the interested parties is from England, while the other is from the United States.
However, if the company is rescued, its workforce is likely to be reduced.
Details of the potential buyers emerged in a letter sent to councillors ahead of a special meeting of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council last night.
Administrators for the firm also briefed councillors about the development.
Mr. Paisley also revealed the ownership of the Wrightbus land is likely to be settled in any sale.
The BBC reported Mr Paisley said he hoped a deal could be concluded by the end of next week and that the issue of the ownership of Wrightbus land, is likely to be addressed in any sale.
The land is currently owned by Jeff Wright separate to his role in Wrightbus and is going into administration.
