Three men arrested over two separate paramilitary shootings in Belfast

Detectives investigating two separate paramilitary shootings in Belfast have arrested three men.

It's after an attack around Jamaica Street in the North of the City in June and another by Henry Place in July.

Officers seized cash, phones and other items in searches earlier.

Three men aged 45, 46 and 54 are being questioned at Musgrave Serious Crime Suite.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Reid said: “Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch have arrested three men, aged 45, 46 and 54 years under the Terrorism Act, following searches of properties in North and West Belfast today in relation to two separate paramilitary-style shootings which occurred in the Jamaica Street area of North Belfast on the evening of Sunday 25th June and the Henry Place area of Belfast on Saturday, 22 July.

Addingm "the men have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite where they are currently helping police with their enquiries. During the searches detectives seized a large quantity of cash, mobile phones and other items. Detectives are also searching a further property in North Belfast in connection with these investigations.”
